The Path Forward:

A Clear Plan to Lead APS Forward

Danielle knows what's at stake. Federal cuts to Title I and Title III funding will hit our most vulnerable students hardest—students with disabilities, English learners, Native American students, and those from low-income families. But Danielle isn't waiting for Washington to act. She has a clear plan to protect APS students and move our district forward:

    • Advocate at the state level for immediate funding offsets to replace lost federal dollars

    • Continue data-driven budget decisions that allocate resources equitably and tie spending to student outcomes

    • Strategically repurpose buildings and assets to maximize every dollar for classrooms

    • Strengthen district capacity to investigate discrimination and protect civil rights when federal enforcement disappears

    • Double down on culturally and linguistically responsive education—the legally required Yazzie-Martinez mandate

    • Expand support for Native American students, and Indigenous language programs

    • Ensure students with disabilities and English learners get the services they need

    • Invest in robust data systems to track what matters—not just test scores, but school climate, teacher retention, and whether students are truly prepared for life after graduation

    • Expand access to career-connected learning and trades programs so every student has a path to economic opportunity

    • Continue to focus relentlessly on improving math and reading proficiency while keeping education holistic and aligned with community values

    • Make APS schools places families actively choose because of their quality, climate, and opportunities

    • Make tough budget decisions transparently with meaningful community input

    • Ensure the board has real oversight through strong finance policies and accountability measures
